Golf on the Edge of the Lakes

Founded in 1891, Kendal Golf Club sits on elevated limestone ground above the town, looking out across the Lakeland fells. Our 18-hole parkland course challenges every club in the bag — from blind drives over natural ridges to precision approach shots on recently levelled PGA-standard greens. Open to visitors all year round.

Signature Holes

Three holes that define Kendal Golf Club — each with its own character, challenge, and view.

Hole 13 — Cunswick Scar
Hole 13

Cunswick Scar

Par 4|380 yds

The most photographed hole on the course. A blind tee shot over the ridge gives way to sweeping views across the Lyth Valley — reward the carry with a precise iron to the elevated green.

Hole 17 — Battleships
Hole 17

Battleships

Par 3|168 yds

A deceptively demanding par 3 with a long carry across a natural hollow. The flag sits behind a series of ridge mounds — local knowledge is your only advantage.

Hole 14 — Coffin Wood
Hole 14

Coffin Wood

Par 4|355 yds

The tightest driving hole on the course. Ancient woodland flanks both sides; find the fairway and a short iron awaits — miss it and you'll understand how the hole earned its name.

Fantastic course, stunning views. The 13th tee is one of the best I've played — just make sure you aim correctly! Friendly staff and a great bar afterwards.

Hidden gem above Kendal. The course challenges every club in the bag and the views from the top are spectacular. Will definitely be back.

Very undulating — be prepared for elevated tee shots. The views are amazing. A few rounds here will definitely improve your scoring.
